چکیده
The fatty acid and natural product content of hemp seed oil was analyzed by GC-MS and LC-MS. The presence of linoleic acid (LA) and -linolenic acid (LNA) were confirmed in their previously reported ratio of 3:1 LA:LNA. The presence of -caryophyllene (740 mg/L), myrcene (160 mg/L), -sitosterol (100-148 g/L) and trace amounts of methyl salicylate was observed in the oil which had not been previously reported. Trace amounts of cannabidiol (CBD) were also detected. Bioassays were performed with the oil to determine its effectiveness as an antimicrobial agent. Some bioactivity was observed during the primary screening. [Article copies available for a fee from The Haworth Document Delivery Service: 1-800-342-9678. P70: Comparison of Hemp Seed Oil Effect on Expression of Cannabinoid Receptor 1 and 2 in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of central nervous system with inflammatory basis. Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is common animal model used in experiments the most for investigating the multiple sclerosis due to many similar aspects. Hemp seed oil possess potential anti-inflammatory properties. In our research we investigated and compared the effect of hemp s...

Multiple sclerosis (MS), as an auto-immune disease, is confined to the central nervous system and is usually accompanied with debilitating condition in MS patient. The rate of disease in the females is more than males (2:1), and it is diagnosed between 20 to 40 years old. Phototherapy, as a traditional remedy, is used to treat different pathological conditions including MS. Hemp seed oil, as an...

Interest in Cannabis has largely focused on its content of psychoactive substances (cannabinoids) or its potential industrial use as a source of cellulose fibre. While the whole seed has long been used as a source of food, its potential healt...
متن کاملVariability in Seed Traits in a Collection of Cannabis sativa L. Genotypes
The seed of Cannabis sativa L. is an expanding source of proteins and oil for both humans and animals. In this study, the proximate composition of a collection of hemp cultivars and accessions of different geographical origins grown under the same conditions for 1 year was analyzed in order to identify potential accessions to improve hemp cultivars. Fatty acids, tocopherols, and antinutritional...
